——— The Leaderboard Isn’t Your Mirror ———

I’ve seen too many people spiral this week because of their Rewards score. They look at the chart, see the number slide down, and assume it means their content is bad. That they’re being ignored. That they aren’t good enough.  

It’s not true.  

The leaderboard is not a measure of your worth. It’s not a measure of your reach. It’s just a reflection of one thing: who happens to interact with your casts in a given week. And you cannot control that.

Here’s the blunt part:  

✷ You could post something brilliant and if the “right” people don’t like, comment or recast it, it won’t score.  

✷ Not everyone is considered equal. Some people’s interactions weigh more than others.

✷ You could post something mid and if a few whales hit it, it scores well.  

✷ The algorithm doesn’t care about consistency, or effort, or intent. It cares about spam labels and engagement weightings you don’t get to see.  


So when you tie your self-worth to it, you’re letting a black box decide how you feel about yourself. That’s not healthy.

If your number went down this week, it doesn’t mean your content got worse. It just means the dice rolled differently.  

What actually matters:  
- Are you making things you’re proud of?  
- Are you finding your people here?  
- Are you having conversations that feel good?  

Because the leaderboard won’t hug you when you’re burned out.

So if you need permission: stop staring at it. Go reply to a friend. Share something you love. Post something weird that makes you laugh.  

Your score is temporary. Your presence is not.

❤️ the blunt part. If you are here and having fun , engaging ppl, finding your crew then check some leaderboard and that dictates how you feel about your time here you are going to have more bad days than good ones. 

Power of 1: it’s all about that 1 interaction. Just think, if you go out IRL and put on your fav shirt and just 1 person compliments it that can make your day!

Holding the door for 1 person can make that persons day, you’ve impacted their life. 

1 person telling you that you did a great job at work or on FC is all you need!

It’s the single interaction that matters and those 1’s add up. They don’t show up on the leaderboard some dude vibe coded half asleep bc they think it will bring more DAU’s that bring in more ppl who will be DAU’s that post things ppl will interact with. 

1 just 1 is what matters.

I don't think it was ever intended to be an engagement metric. Afaik it's an incentive tool, to incentivize specific use cases, for example new users, wallet balances, etc.

Feel this. I don't change my habits really, but my engagement changes and all that does is make me do game mechanics guessing about algorithms :)

Honestly for my level of engagement I am so grateful for the 5 bucks I get every week.

I had this feeling for a while, I’ve been consistent, creative, working hard, putting videos out there ,but it looked like, for every push, there was a bigger dip 
I just learnt to enjoy making my videos, rather than expecting anythin from the leaderboard, it made everything a lot easier on here

Honestly, I reduced the way I check the leaderboard long time ago. I simply just vibe and have fun with my friends here

The leaderboard is no longer something I judge my community involvement with, it’s just a board that some people let control their experience here with
