There is certainly an element of bias there. One thing that helps me is to get a mental break between writing and reviewing the same thing. E.g. go on a walk or do something else in-between, so you can review with a fresh set of eyes.

Maybe it's me? I try to create PRs and review them like I would someone else's code, but struggle to be as pedantic.
