Wooden boat for you @meganmichelle.eth, passed this three-mast-er on the crossing over to the island today. Cloudy grey day down here todayβ¦but we have the tall ships out and about on the harbour.

Is that the R Tucker Thompson? I thought it might be the Spirit of NZ. I donβt know my tall ships that well πΈ

got the answer: Spirit of NZ. Owned by the Spirit of Adventure Trust with her home in Auckland. She replaced the original Spirit of Adventure about 25 years ago. With a core business of sail training for the youth, this ship is the hardest working sail training ship in the world.

Woah! It is the Spirit of NZ. I did a βtour of dutyβ on that when i was a kid. 6am swims around the boat every morning (π₯Ά)

oh wow hah - loved the early morning swims (in summer) - had absolutely no fear of jumping off the boat back in the 90s before we got sharks on the east coast
