The story premise is a place referred to as āthe veilā in lore. Within this place, all roads eventually lead you to a great city of Oz. Not unlike the books āemerald-tinted glassesā, the city has an ephemeral state that seemingly churns prosperity so long as its denizens (e.g., you) spend time there.
Once upon a time, a great ruler Pastorio used dream-like abilities to create Oz for reasons yet known. He left, and in his place to rule Oz he left an AI named Ozwald to maintain the balance of all the prosperity and magic in Oz.
Ever since, journeys have come and gone by others seeking to protect or exploit Ozwald, or to seek Pastorio for various reasons. The further you explore the more questions the answers will bring you but this a story meant to dive into at any point for any length of time.
