Peace for our time
On Sept 30, 1938 British PM, Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement with Hitler, allowing Nazi Germany to annex Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia, attempting to appease Hitler and avoid a major war in Europe.

Less than a year after the agreement, Hitler's invasion of Poland began World War II.
