This monthβs life lessons from my twig, who now resides at /thenextwave. 1. Look within during rapid growth. You may be thriving on the surface but tangled underneath. 2. If your surroundings donβt support your growth, itβs time to move. 3. Be gentle with change, however necessary. Transplant shock is real.

Iβm curious - to the extent youβre comfortable sharing - what resonated most.

1 and 3, mostly transplant shock. I left my home of 14 years recently to move to another continent for work. What seemed like a short stint has now become far more indefinite. The move has been amazing for my career which ironically was something I turned down multiple times in the past coz I chose to stay for personal reasons. Now it feels like Iβm starting over completely in every sense. I live in one of the best cities (atleast I think so, have a tendency to romanticise everything, my username starts with a city, that should say something), but underneath Iβm either craving the life I left behind or constantly distracting myself from those thoughts. Iβve lost my support system, I know Iβll rebuild, this in-between phase doesnβt feel good. Some days I wonder if I made a mistake. Sorry for the longish word vomit.

Appreciate you sharing this and admire your courage to change your surroundings. π€ Iβm sure many people here would relate to your situation as these days immigration is often the way to get better opportunities for work.
