I've looked at over 900 casts today and found only eight people who matched the criteria in my challenge. I'm going to extend the deadline for this because I have yet to comb through the leaderboard. My happy hypothesis is that people earnestly sharing content do not stay at <100 followers for long. That said, it is difficult to naturally see content from newer users in the feed. The majority of the eight people I found came from /welcome, where an introduction made with effort can go a long way in helping people find community here. Please keep your suggestions coming. They're very helpful. I'm reading them *all* as I do this, and will respond after my eyeballs recover.

I defo match your criteria, but I'm not sure about your hypothesis. Or maybe I'm off about my own content perception 😅

One of the criteria for this was that I find a cast personally interesting, which is subjective. I did look at your casts but it didn't meet that filter. If you want my feedback, let me know. If you don't, no worries. :)

Hey! No hard feelings, and I definitely want it! I mean, I'm not here to entertain or be liked by everyone. Actually, I'm here out of curiosity on X alternatives, decentralization potential and pioneering within web3. Then, I came across your experiment, and just wrote you. Open heart, lol. Thanks for getting back to me tho. That was unexpected and says millions about you.

Good. I feel the same about my presence - not here to be everyone's cup of tea. Since you're open to it, which is awesome, two things I noticed in your content: 1. I like food and nature, and so do a lot of people. I would personally engage with your photos if you shared even a little more context (specific restaurant, recipe, or personal memory). The detail about your concert being in Hamburg is the only cast I felt a glimpse of *you*. 2. On mini apps: If you ever try that same scroll experiment I did, you’ll quickly see a pattern of lots of low-effort spammy shares with no context. If you’re going to post about mini apps, I’d recommend adding something personal beyond the default text. In my short experience here so far, the payoff of improving one's casts is less about performance or popularity contests. It's more about increasing the surface area for serendipity. Offering just enough detail for someone to genuinely connect with your thoughts or your world can really open up the magic of this community. If any of this resonated with you, a great writer to follow here is @pichi.

Super thanks for your thorough and thoughtful feedback! I embrace it, and it makes 100% sense. I'm not going to justify or try to explain myself. I will most probably not change my casting behavior a lot... I'm older and stubborn (maybe even lazy?) 😅 But I loved this (and it's my key takeaway): "increasing the surface area for serendipity". I am/was not necessarily looking for this within a social network, but it does sound worth it for me to take more chances and open up a bit. I'm also following now both of you. Looking forward and always happy to learn more.
