Such a great song! Thanks for sharing! Quick question: how are you feeling about Catalog and web3 music lately? Any other apps or platforms you're into these days?

Legend! Thank you! Feels like catalog have bee building their next version // wave for ages. That being said the market was brutal given how quality their product was/is. And appreciate them keeping legacy infrastructure running. I actually am not sure we need more interfaces, if they do the same thing as the previous tranche. I reckon we need novel projects like Songcamp which do a phenomenal job storytelling + leveraging the web3 stack into projects that hit different. Optimistic long term we’ll get there. What’s your sense of things ? 100 $hunt 🍖 200 🍖

I’d love to see a platform like @catalog become the web3 equivalent of Bandcamp, with a strong focus on the art itself and a seamless experience for buying and collecting music. I also hope that platforms like Spotify and YouTube eventually decentralize into blockchains or protocols, or get replaced by them. The transparency that would bring to the music industry would be incredible. Projects like C4 from Songcamp are great for drawing positive attention to the space, we def need more of that. Right now, I think the biggest challenge is onboarding artists to web3 without hesitation. The protocols and interfaces still feel clunky, and I can’t confidently ask artists to trust them. The space needs to rebuild its reputation, and the best way to do that is by gradually onboarding artists who create outstanding work and shed the perception that crypto is all about trading and speculation. Quality > Quantity
