The biggest surprise of the season in England is Nottingham Forest. A team that was on the brink of relegation just a year ago is now heading to Europe. Yes, it’s not the Champions League or Europa League, but still — that’s massive. The Premier League hasn’t seen a fairytale like this in a while. Nuno EspĂrito Santo fit in perfectly. He took a highly functional system — deep defense and sharp counterattacks — and elevated it to the highest level. Forest didn’t play scared, they played smart. They didn’t sit back — they waited for their moment. The result? +29 points compared to last season. From 36 (32 with deduction) to 65. No other team in the Premier League has improved that dramatically in one year. A historic upgrade. Also notable for improvement: • Brentford (+17) • Brighton (+16) At the other end of the table: Tottenham. They collapsed from 66 points to 38 — a drop of 28. Formally a disastrous season, but they’ve still got a trophy on the shelf.
