Canelo: A Song for My Dog Gm friends. When my mother died, it was a huge blow to everyone at home. My dad bore the brunt of it in the end; he was the one who would carry the heaviest burden of loneliness. Time passed, and we were given a Golden Retriever whom we named "Canelo." This dog quickly became like another son to my father; it was so rewarding to see my dad smile again, and Canelo accompanied him everywhere. Sadly, Canelo got sick, and like everything under the sun, he left us too; he had an illness we couldn’t cure. Another blow for my dad and for all of us. I cried like a child again, but I wrote this song for him, in gratitude for his love and his unconditional devotion. I dedicate this to everyone who has lost a pet or a special loved one. 🤍
