Voice reveal of me, for a small post to talk about Papi, lore on chihuahuas, and something that’s happening that we can’t stop but need to contend with and possibly sooner than we had hoped.

He’s been my best friend for almost 15 years so I’ll return the favor to the very end, paw in hand.

I’m sharing this because when the stark change began, the first thing I did was the hard thing of candidly searching for human experiences online (Reddit, TikTok, GPT searches) for objective “final day” stories and empathetic synergy. 

I have an anxiety/panic disorder (well-managed since 2022) so during complicated times, I take steps to make sure I can personally process what I know is hard for me to process, so I can be ready and okay for an inevitable moment I knew almost 15 years ago would leave me not okay.

Dogs know things. They feel a lot. As easy as it is to panic and freak out in these last months or weeks or days, what’s become more important to me is being the spirit guide for him that his ancestral packmates were for an entire civilization.
