@dromar.eth if taking melatonin tells the body to stop producing it and causes issues, why doesn't the same theory apply to creatine?

Thats interesting, would be a bit different in long term use due to how the body uses each. Main thing is it would be different due to the way creatinine is treated. Basically creatinine behaves as a nutrient in the body. Think vitamin C. Likely would see a drop off and down regulation in kidneys preserving creatinine and reducing endogenous storing as excess builds up. So downregulation does happen, but its the kind that adjusts on an instantaneous basis similar to how it would if you had a ton of protein or glucose. Melatonin is more hormonal. Hormonal modulation can lead to suppression long term or even completely fry things. Also why I like to use melatonin more as a 'scheduler' signaling pill rather than a sleep aid. Basically trying to push the circadian clock towards ideal ebbs/flow for bed time.

I don’t think so? We naturally produce less melatonin with age so supplementation helps return to earlier levels
