what’s wrong with this opinion? Current algorithms are controlled by a profit seeking company (eg Facebook). Would you not like to choose what you get to see on social media more and be able to toggle?

oh most definitely, this is where checks and balances must occur. 

Would argue that currently social media strives for sensationalism as that attracts the most attention and as such people get radicalized on either side of the political spectrum
