As I move through socioeconomic spaces, I watch ad campaigns target certain demographics . Seems chicken or the egg. Do these entities advertise this way because it works for the demo or does it work for the demo because that’s how the system of entities advertise to them?

The more I’ve been trying to learn marketing and branding, the more I’m coming to the understanding the ads work because they hack the demo’s existing brain “blind spots”. It’s like an objective function that has had decades to be optimised
