Is cross breeding plants really genetic modification though or is it just basically horticulture/aquaculture? To me that sort of thing is only concerning when they're doing stuff like making plants resistant to a poison chemical so they can spray it on there.

Agreed. If it's just slicing and old school stuff I'm fine. If it's genetic I would say no or exercise very very extreme caution.
