Honestly, do we even think that any nfts will ever have the pull of something like Pokemon cards or even CS skins long term? 99% of ip on the crypto side of things looks awful, is inaccessible to the masses, and doesn’t have 20+ years of history behind it https://x.com/moonoverlord/status/1941848546300555725?s=46

I do yeah, just due to human behavior patterns. Pokemon is one of the greatest IPs ever, meanwhile Magic cards have a similar history and lots of collectors and yet the card prices have been mostly flat for years. Old and rare magic cards could have their time too, and I'm sure there will be other collectibles in the future that use blockchains that will be a huge success. Will just take time and more experiments.

Magic cards have their time in the spotlight here and there, but I do think a large part of them not booming is due to their presence in other mediums being close to non existent + they just aren’t as cute as Pokemon so it’s harder to get kids into the Magic ecosystem Tbh stuff like abstract and pudgy penguins kinda had me feeling like there could be some path towards a good mainstream ip with crypto integration without people having to deal with crypto at all (as it’s all done behind the curtains), but they’ve kinda fumbled that opportunity so far
