What’s going on? Did someone just crack old wallets using a quantum computer? All 8 dormant Bitcoin wallets suddenly woke up for the first time in 14 years. Total transferred: 80,009 BTC ($8.69B). I’ve heard of this possibility before, but seeing it unfold now feels surreal. Old keys. Ancient addresses. Gone in a blink. Are we witnessing the first quantum exploit?

Wow, it's sad that our assets are not protected, of course, I have far from such amounts, but the very process that we found the opportunity is sad.😩

It’s not yet confirmed if that’s the case. But the fact remains, sooner or later, someone will find a way to crack old wallets and bring lost Bitcoin back into circulation using a quantum computer. It’s just a matter of time. Other networks are in a better position for now, they aren’t as attractive for exploits. Yet. Still, it’s worth keeping this possibility in mind. 👀
