How are we making Farcaster easier to understand for new people

1. We're still considering rebranding Warpcast (back) to Farcaster. If we do that, will have an FIP. It will be controversial, but initial feedback from most developers actively building on the protocol is they are a supportive (with the goal of increasing users on the protocol). To be clear: this is not final /decided.

2. We rebranded frames to mini apps. This is a more literal name and in line with other popular ecosystems like Telegram. This is easier to understand for new developers.

3. We're gradually deprecating warps. We here this feedback a lot—what are warps and why do I need them—and moving most of the functionality of warps to USDC is much simpler (as well as being more composable).

4. We're working on cheaper / free sign ups. A lot of potential good new users churn at the $3 to sign up screen. Our goals are to 1) make it cheaper at the protocol for other apps and 2) free on Warpcast with a verification (we pay the protocol).

It is the No1 for me because I get pretty much confused explaining the two to new folks.

This year I built:

First of all, we at Base Enugu wish you all a Happy and Basesome New Year!

The journey since last year has been remarkable. 

✓ What began as a community of just five members has grown into a thriving group of over 250 active builders on Base.

✓ We hosted weekly calls,

✓ onboarding sessions, 

✓ and unified resources through the successful merger of @baseunn  into Base Enugu. 

✓ We’ve also held regular spaces on X to onboard new users and promote the ecosystem.

✓ We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, especially seeing members create amazing projects on Base.

And this is just the beginning - day one of an incredible journey.

Let’s achieve even more together this year and beyond!

The best of the best among all my projects this year is Afrik Arts.

Afrik Arts uses blockchain to preserve and promote Africa's cultural heritage by empowering artists, authenticating traditional artworks, and enhancing global visibility.

This initiative fosters economic opportunities, combats forgery, and ensures the preservation of African art and traditions for future generations.

- Added a new update to Memescan that provides users with essential information about the token, its risk factors, and recent token scans.

- Hosted the live version and currently working earnestly to integrate OnchainKit, enabling WalletConnect and other core backend features.

This year I built:

The project that I built this year which I'm very proud of is Memescan.

Memescan is a web app on the Base network that evaluates meme tokens to help users avoid rug pulls. 

Enter a token's address for a risk assessment; live data like liquidity and market cap coming soon.
