the media system pays people to describe the world in the most stress-inducing way possible, and there are tens of thousands of people who make it their job to stress people out and earn huge wealth from doing so well this nurtures a whole generation of people who adopt being stressed and disappointed as their identity, because that is the dominant story they read and listen to starting to think more and more that there is a moral mission to find a way to break this terrible systemic cycle
