This comes back to Hanson’s original “vote values” mantra e.g. markets should be constrained to the values of the entity, which must be determined outside market forces.

About an hour ago, the MetaDAO multisig responsible for handling the proposal 10 dutch auction unintentionally sold 720 META at below-market prices. It appears that the dilution incurred from this event is approximately 5.3%.

Ryan, this part of the business is already on-chain. It’s just moving its default from L1 Ethereum to Base

1. you are not a libertarian when you advocate a 30% tax on anything being “good” 2. PoW brings the benefit of securing the hardest money in history

Seeing more and more commies move into crypto. For any commies reading this - why do you like crypto and how do I stop you from liking it?

this isn’t how bitcoin mining works economically. It is commoditized. Meaning, if you don’t have the cheapest electricity possible you go out of business it. This is why miners pop up on grids that have excess energy & where there is stranded energy. They will never mine in a jurisdiction with an excise tax

There are 195 countries. A 30% tax is crushing. Miners will most certainly go find a few other countries materially below 30%, if not 0. It weakens Bitcoin (very slightly), has no impact on net emissions, funds zero public services, and makes America more uncompetitive in crypto.

It’s a 99.76% reduction. It’s $0.0045, not $0.45 (confusing syntax used by author).

If someone wanted to hide a lot of $$$ in crypto in case they might go to prison and have their assets seized, how would you recommend they hide that crypto? Both physically and digitally.
