GM! In class last night, my students set up wallets/apps that they’ll use for the remainder of the semester to learn about Blockchain and crypto: @rainbow @base.base.eth and Farcaster. I’ll be funding these for them so they have a small amount for gas, to learn to swap etc. They have an assignment to review 3 mini apps this week. What would you recommend? Keep the following in mind: ➡️ 70% of class has never used anything in crypto ➡️ 94% are Entrepreneurship majors ➡️ all GenZ ➡️ they have no funds (they will have a small amount for gas but not funded yet) Looking for mini apps that are: ✅ fun & engaging ✅ possibly educational ✅ don’t cost anything ✅ bonus if has a crypto component (eg mint after) I have my faves but I want to know yours—drop them in the replies. I’ll be sharing this thread with the students and tipping my fave options. TY!

2 definites I would give them: @ponder using free votes; I'd tell them to vote on 10 and see how they did and what they would've made.... see crypto element and learn about FC & web3 culture @minimint-app by @chriscocreated I'd tell them to do a free mint or a 0.001 mint of a logo they are interested in using for themselves, or a great image, or words that express their belief or motto....then share it with each other and with us here telling us they are in your class... full web3 experience for free Options for other: Clanker - launch a clanker...kind of risky and I don't like the meta, but would teach them Paragraph - maybe since they are entrepreneurs and would like writing, but I hesitate cause the coin mechanism is hard to understand and doesn't really produce $$ Pods - free minting and find stuff they are interested in...a bridge from web2 But at the end of the day, I would probably say /gmfarcaster b/c it's what you do and they could learn about FC & culture, I'd tell them to watch 2 episides and collect them on pods

they can earn additional funds and learn how crypto can facilitate global onchain utility via /poidh — and there are always some fun, low hanging bounties easy to claim (i recommend the egg album in particular) you could even create an album just for them! and helpful seasoned crypto users can fund bounties with your/other newbie students in mind.

I think the @nodemerch mini app is very well suited for non-crypto native users The entire user flow has nothing to do with crypto up until the final step of checkout where it is simply one of the payment options they can choose https://farcaster.xyz/miniapps/vXGThx0RULvQ/node-merch

/pixelnouns minting is fun and free /clankermon is a really polished miniapp but requires buy in to be useful /betr is also buy in (~1.50$ for the mint on Wednesday) but really nice showcase for the farcaster flywheel. @clanker or /glanker if they want to play around with tokens

$BALLOON minkapp by @derek / /nativefun Maybe you could even tell them the lore about @adrienne not wanting to pop balloons for pennies with the previous miniapp that shan't be named (lol ok, it was popfi) Afaik it's no gas to claim but is gas to burn and may be a bit of fun and could see the transaction data from it (but they may be if a similar though to Adrienne like "why would I do this??? 💁" lol) Branching, it could get them to maybe look into nativefun itself as the larger project and see how that goes? 🤷

Your students can learn a lot by looking at the BREAD ecosystem! We do public goods funding, using defi to provide lossless donations. Bake bread in our mini app, your bread holdings also give you voting power. So your students get 101 of bridging, swapping, minting, LPs, PGF, DAOs & voting while supporting nonprofits. https://farcaster.xyz/miniapps/ttPrhpLEfsDS/bread

Prof, thank you for all of kind words in yesterdays episode 🥹 I watched the whole thing before bed last night. I’m going to throw the /mintedmerch mini-app in here because we have a wheel that anyone can spin daily (no purchase necessary) and we give out prizes (merch & gift cards) weekly as a way to reward users!

That's a fantastic thing you're doing. I'd go with: 1. Cura or/and Feeds or/and GMFarcaster because they will learn stuff about FC 2. Ponder- because they will get to know groups opinions. 3. Inflynce or/and Warpslot or/and Scratch or/and Daily Active User or/and Eggs- because they will make some little money without paying anything.

Log a Dog why? - its fun and easy to understand - anyone can earn on it - crypto plays an important role but you can play w/out even knowing that crypto is involved - if you do want to dive into the economics of the flywheel, there is to learn behind the scenes (staking, zora coins, clanker, etc) https://logadog.xyz

I would throw in something like morpho. I know it's mainly a finance app, and maybe this is something for the 102 class. Lending, borrowing, and getting yield seem like core components of crypto functionality that would make sense and provide opportunity to young business folks.
