i’m still convinced that $nouns (nouns backed fungible token; for example 1 nouns = 1,000,000 $nouns) should happen if you have thoughts on the matter share them here in replies or dm me! unless there’s meaningful pushback i’m gonna start pushing for it harder soon

well if the point is that $nogs is already a fungible token associated with nouns so we should use that i disagree. the main point here is to make a fungible token that you can redeem for nouns

$nogs is distributed directly based on participation though, isn’t that a solid foundation for earning a token redeemable for nouns? I guess a better question is - how do you see people earning this other new token?

And don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are issues with this since it wasn’t the explicit mission from the get go, like rewarding gnars voting and nouns voting with the same amount is a little weird if $nogs can be redeemed for a noun. Just curious what ideal distribution methods look like to you

fundamentally $nouns is not issued from the dao out of a void but only through depositing treasury nouns so the question is likely similar to retroing nouns through governance. ofc we could do more granular things with $nouns tho so distribution via the retro @rounds would be a potential direction or via props

ofc you can buy $nouns as well. the proposal here is not really assuming anything specific. it’s a proposal to create $nouns as a primitive and the dao could do whatever it wants with it including minting more and giving it out to certain actors like prop builders

I believe $nogs has lots of tokens set aside, why not have the DAO distribute these in this way? I guess it feels like an unnecessary layer of complexity when there’s an established project like NNS. certain tokenomics would need to be adjusted, but I fail to see the aversion to adapting that project for this purpose
