An old illustration showing the alliance between Imperial Japan & the British Empire. It depicts Amaterasu holding the Heavenly Spear which created Japanese archipelago with Britannia holding her Union Jack shield both looking down from the clouds as equals. The Anglo-Japanese Alliance lasted for 21 years between 1902 to 1923. This was the first time in history that a Asian Empire & a Western Empire formed an alliance on equal terms. It was a significant source of national pride & one that should not be forgotten.
