how else do you solve cross-device ux? eg. same bookmarks, history, search, etc. on desktop and mobile?

I don’t want cross-device ux, I’ve never used it and don’t see how its that helpful

idk, i think most people feel like if they save a chrome bookmark on desktop and its not saved on mobile then something is broken. same for payment info, passwords, history, etc

The cast was specifically targeted at arc which prompts you to create an account to use it at all. Chrome has an opt-in model which is much better

chrome has ~3b daily active users. only a tiny fraction of them use a pw manager. for the vast majority of their users chrome *is* the pw manager

Bookmarks are overrated imo, but maybe people use them. Things like payment info and passwords are covered by password managers
