“this has been done before” is a common reaction to many products, but when facebook launched, six degrees/friendfeed users also said that. nobody knows what will click in the end. my younger arrogant self used to judge as if i knew, but i am humbled to the floor and open minded today.

related line of thinking: "but they did it first" it's cool to be first, but better to be best one big advantage of being early in a space where "the best" is still TBD, is the ability to quickly absorb new lessons from similar new product launches
