This weekend @alezsavz won $115 USDC from the @livecaster x @tipn pot during the /f1 British Grand Prix Livecast. At the heart of this experience was composability across mini apps + snapchain + smart contracts on @base.

Here's how it worked:

The Tipn team ( @kompreni @niftytime.eth) has built Tipn Actions which allow Tipn to do more than transfer USDC between FIDs. You can programmatically trigger onchain “actions” whenever a tip is sent via Tipn when someone likes a cast.

In Livecaster's case, when chat participants received protocol reactions, the tipn action would transfer the tip money to a jackpot smart contract I wrote called LiveTipnPot. It would accumulate USDC from tips and every tip granted you an entree into the pot.

Throughout the F1 race as people casted bangers I tipped them from the livecaster account via a like + tipn. That earned them entries to win the pot. The Tipn action was configured so that only likes sent via livecaster app id (there are seperate signers for the app) would trigger the action. Entries were weighted so the more bangers you posted and more you got tipped, the higher your chances of winning.

Shout out to the Tipn team for also contributing a hefty amount of tips and entries!

By the end of the 1.5 hour long race, the pot contract had accumulated $115 USDC and nearly 300 entries for ~40 wallets.

Then the draw() function from the contract was called, seeded with the final number of replies in the thread, to pick one of the random entries onchain and transfer the entire USDC pot balance to them. 

One lucky livecaster got $115 USDC for talking about F1 on a Sunday morning in a Farcaster mini app. That's like going to your local sports bar and winning $115 just for showing up and bringing good vibes.

There's something magical about multiple apps talking to each other onchain without users having to do anything other than show up and use a mini app.

It feels like you're just casting and liking casts but under the hood the onchain legos are moving money around in ways that unlock new social finance experiences. Shout out @neynar for the infrastructure unlocking this too!

@tipn actions are like gravity

they bring a lot of the mind-blowing ideas that have been floating around the crypto space for years (e.g. composability) down to earth, making them real, accessible, and actionable

at base, it's just the Tipn SC talking with a specific action SC coordinating across the FC snapchain and base blockchain 

but also, tipn actions are like onchain apps within tipn

depending on *where* a tip happens (e.g. a specific mini app) and also *who* sends OR receives a tip, a whole universe of different programmable reactions is possible

yday we debuted Tipn Pools in collaboration with @sayangel in @livecaster 

instead of p2p tips, the Tipn Pool action routed tips sent in the LC mini app to a single pool that was programmed to select a random winner after the LC event ended

our next tipn action will go live soon (it may be live as I type this 👀)

after that, we want to see a million tipn actions bloom across the mini app and farcaster ecosystem

we believe programmable money streams expand the canvas for (mini) app UX design and will help attract the next wave of interest and users to our space through better, more immediate value alignment

instead of simply adding payments or not to an app, it's about thinking how streams of money can be routed to surprise and delight users to enhance and create unforgettable 1 of 1 experiences
