Spotify’s AI DJ now creates mixes based on vocal prompts. 

Been waiting for this to speed up playlist creation & updates. Very excited to start testing.

Very mixed results so far testing the audio prompts. Typically when I have an idea, I have to restate it in an attempt to be more specific to filter out what I don’t want to hear. Not a ton of deep discovery happening regardless.

Ex.
“Vibey classic west coast jazz for a foggy morning coffee and hike” had bad results.

“A mixture of exotica and contemporary instrumental surf” had much narrower and deeper results.

Interesting. It seems that their model has some issues in understanding the "emotional" context of the user, and is a bit limited to offering music that "sounds similar" within a genre (?)

I wonder if it will be able to make better automatic DJ sets than TikTok's DJ-Influecer 😂
