Pixelmator. Affinity. Very good starts, both acquired by behemoths. Plenty of opportunity within the suite to disrupt. But also takes nurture - education is where a lot of this starts (edu discounts). Very hard for just vibe coders to take over. Because familiarity. Seen autocad? Hard for upstart cad software to change that market - because from engineering school to architecture school, this is the tool people depend on. Habits take time to be broken, and require long term investment while this stuff doesn’t pay off. It’s why we find Java so pervasive in organizations. Sun knew how to handle the education market. Nurture. It’s land and expand, but much earlier in the cycle.
