ultra hd aka 4k blu-ray

fun fact: the UHD standard denotes 3840x2160 resolution which surprisingly is not quite 4k.

UHD differs from true 4k which is the DCI-4k standard at 4096x2160 resolution, but DCI-4k is really only common as a recording format and not for final delivery.

so, anytime you see a movie or youtube video that says it’s “4k”, it’s almost always presented in UHD not DCI-4k. not that it really matters, but now you know.
