Our batch of elephant garlic from the Isle of Wight are coming along nicely at the /allotment! 

Elephant garlic can grow to around softball sized, absolute monsters! But they have a very tender flavour. Great for cooking.

These look massive already. Are they a specific Isle of Wight breed or did you just buy them there?

Thanks, they are absolutely massive garlics! They're a specialist variety from the Isle of Wight. We originally bought two from a specialist at an RHS flower show, and ever since then, year on year, we grow more and more. We tend to be self-sufficient year-round with garlic now.

So here in the UK we bought them from thegarlicfarm.co.uk directly, however I think you can also order them from Crocus online, and I've even seen some being sold on Amazon (but I can't vouch for the specific vendors).
