PSA, after hiking, do your tick checks thoroughly everyone!! The hospital informed me I have a tickborne illness now, which explains why I’ve been bedridden the past few days lol. I caught it early, so two weeks of antibiotics should eradicate the disease, but the doctor said it might be rough. TickSafetyLinks⬇️

I’m not going to disclose which illness it is publicly for privacy reasons. I just want others to avoid this!! Here are resources on how to avoid, remove, and treat ticks: https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/prevention/index.html https://youtu.be/27McsguL2Og?si=c-ndB5vWvgWXKAYZ https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/about/index.html

I’m 99% sure the place where I got the tick we were literally trudging through tall brush for an hour and a half. It wasn’t a heavily trafficked trail, but enough to be recommended by someone at the hotel. I was even wearing pants but got bit on my leg (in plain sight).

I was honestly really worried hiking that trail about ticks and that was half of what I thought about. Sometimes it really goes to TRUST YOUR GUT when it tells you NOT to do something!! This goes for everything but especially for outdoor adventures!! Here’s a little slug I found :P
