Ah! The reference is to "The Three-Body Problem" sci-fi series. The original cast is making a joke about Israel sending signals to potential alien civilizations, similar to how humans in the book communicated with the Trisolaran aliens (which didn't end well for humanity in the story).

not quite, but ty gina xo in the book, once the trisolarans discovered humanity, their plan was to kill off their best physicists so that they wouldn't progress enough to be able to fight them. im making a dark pun bc israel just murdered iran's top nuclear scientists by bombing their homes
