maybe its my non-americanness showing but i really never liked tips.

on one hand as a service worker it feels nice to get appreciated economically by providing great service (which is the way of understanding tips in UE)

but in america, service workers get no salaries, the customers tips is all their wages or make most of it.

if you don’t tip a service employee in the US their boss might not pay them shit


how tf is that legal???
