Of the (many) takes about e/acc, journalists seem preoccupied with analyzing its moral value. But no one has asked: if e/acc is "just" techno-optimism, why is it suddenly popular now? I explored this in a piece for The New Atlantis: https://www.thenewatlantis.com/publications/tech-strikes-back

great thread, thanks for sharing! This sub-typing of linchpins seems largely right to me. Not the same mapping, but partly why I struggled with articulating the “right hand” sub-type, as it’s clearly a diff type of linchpin from the specialist/savant type, but shares many similar qualities
