The protocol's foundational principle is shared security.
Instead of each network operating in a silo, they can tap into a common pool of staked assets, thereby inheriting the economic security of a much larger and more established ecosystem.
This is made possible through restaking, where users who have already staked assets (such as ETH or other ERC-20 tokens) can opt-in to have those assets simultaneously secure other protocols.
In return for taking on this additional validation work and risk, restakers are compensated with additional rewards from the protocols they help secure.
