Buddha casting ceremony in Buddhism, there’s a belief that making merit by giving up something truly valuable (or hard to let go of) brings great spiritual rewards. In this case, during the casting, people (well not me, I’m broke 😂) donate gold to be melted down and used to create the Buddha statue. as a way to support and preserve the religion.
