so you decide which content is promoted, but you will pay us if we decide to promote this specific content..? if i'm being honest, the growth / marketing hack you're using feels similar to the advertising model that i would love for social platforms to move away from — pay-to-promote. it also feels airdropfarmy.

it's permisionless, and if you don't like the content being promoted just don't follow the users that recast that content?

okay, genuine question: so what if it is permissionless? users get to decide what content is promoted instead of the platform itself? it isn't intuitive for me (and others) for how "permissionless" alone solves a root issue issue with pay-to-promote or pay-to-play models and i think explaining it would be helpful.

"permissionless" addresses the first part of the og post the second part of the post is a different issue imo. yeah, nobody likes spam, but if you enjoy being a user of farcaster for example, would you be willing to get paid to share your positive experience with others? why not let users decide if that's an issue?
