Been to a few crypto network states / pop-up cities around the world - totally agree with that. They're often having overly pretentious descriptions. But in reality, they're more like camps for young adults with money and no kids to have fun. Nothing wrong with having fun, though, and I'd join again

Each event, in my experience, heavily depends on the organizers and the goals or values they set. So to me, leadership feels important here—even if everyone wants to give participants the freedom to shape the event themselves. I've only participated in month-long events, but as a concrete example, I feel that some form of common or individual goal-setting (and tracking) could completely shift the experience from a casual summer camp vibe to something more intentional and thoughtful
