Thank you! I think it’s cos it was mostly associated with older people, and not this generation. I don’t have a problem with it and I use it a lot 😂

in most cases it comes across as condescending - I think rule of thumb is if you know them and are being sincere, 'dear' is ok, if you dont know them, or aren't being sincere, dont use unless you expect them to react
