Yeah it's definitely going to be the source of frustration for a lot of people. Smaller accounts paying the price to get more respect, others resenting it because of the price they can't afford

In principle having the tick doesn't give you anything, but look how you have framed it: "paying the price to get more respect". That's what worries me, that only those with money will get the perception that by paying you get the respect.
