Story time 🚲 15 years ago, I started pedicabbing out of this same storage unit. The company owner was a half wit who treated us all like shit. For the most part we didn't care — we had the most liberating job ever, and went home with piles of cash like we'd never seen in our lives. But after 2 years I'd had enough of his shit. I quit when I no-showed on a Saturday August shift because he was charging us close to $200 to rent the cab for the day. Boy was he bitter about it. Not too long after, I ended up getting a job as a dev for the local newspaper. The money was better than driving a tricycle, no surprise. But I grew to miss it. So I looked on Craigslist and found one for sale. Conveniently, I was living in a warehouse (artist life ftw) at the time, so I had space for it. That was the beginning of an era. 1/x

Multiple times a week, I would take the pedicab out on the town. I never charged. Instead I made friends. Drove my family. Went on dates. One day, I was taking a girl out to lunch on a Sunday and some working pedicabs spotted me and word got back to the half-wit who id ridden for. To make a long story short he ratted me out, accusing me of operating an unlicensed "rogue pedicab operation," taking fares in Boston, which just wasn't true. Rather than get upset about it, I leaned in and officially formed a business: Rogue Pedicab. Took private rides, worked weddings, traveled to festivals. And I ended up being the first independent licensed pedicab in Boston a few years later. The half wit eventually folded and sold me his entire storage unit, minus the cabs. Pictured are two other riders who had been on the receiving end of his bullshit for years. We keep the sign around to remember his ridiculousness.

Enough standing around and recounting old times. Time to bleed those brakes and get this thing roadworthy once and for all. It hasn't operated since covid hit.
