Not sure when the switch happened but looks like all the playlists i listen to while making art are now ai generated music years of playing music and i'd never guessed it; these sounds actually natural and especially the mixes are blewing my mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMd3AEVan_w&t=917s

I could tell that was AI generated in the first 3 seconds. All this AI music on YouTube and Spotify honestly enrages me. It's soulless content that only exists to generate revenue and evade royalties. Just about 10% of all tracks streamed on Spotify are AI generated and commissioned by Spotify themselves so they don't have to pay royalties to artists. I will concede that I've been sort of surprised with the quality of one or two generated songs.

btw all this is absolutely destroying indipendent artists and i hope a big twist will soon happen, bringing back all the good stuff. I feel like we're very close, they already drained everything that was available

I totally agree and of course i can ear it clearly now, but these kind of 'lofi' 'chillhop' 'mood' ecc playlists has always been like so, kind of 'neutral' in order not to deconcentrate, so my brain just accepted these, pretty weird lol In other genres i was able to tell straight, especially singings still need at least 20 more years ๐คฃ

For artists there is a Time to create new styles of music that couldn't be copied or regenerated fast by Ai ๐ค
