The cherry blossom season, also known as hanami, usually falls between the end of March and the beginning of April in Japan, although the exact dates may vary depending on the region and weather conditions. Early flowering begins in Okinawa in January and February, and in northern areas such as Sapporo, flowering occurs closer to May.
