Love this direction, leaning into the 16-bit / Metal Slug vibe gives Clankermon a strong visual identity without going full retro.
Showing all five babymon slots + equipped Clankermons feels like a real UX unlock too. It not only surfaces more info but also creates space for contextual actions (revive, train, etc.). H-scroll works, though a collapsible “stack” view could be another nice touch.
Overall, a sharp evolution that tightens both the style and player flow.

Ok so I have to admit this was equal parts a UX and style exercise, but there is *some* thinking behind this

- the current clankermon style is vaguely scifi, so why not commit? I would not go full 8-bit (although the temptation is there), but 16-bit Metal Slug derivative might just do it

- UX wise, the biggest change
