Hi Farcaster friends. Some personal news: My stepfather is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's and has just been placed in a memory care home. Fortunately he's in good hands and has the support he needs. Lots to do IRL, so I may be casting less frequently for awhile. Nonetheless, I'm just as much of a Farcaster maxi as ever and will be here when I can. I've made some dear friends here, and I wanted y'all to know why I may be slower than usual (and I'm usually kinda slow anyway... lol) to respond to notifs or DCs. ๐

Sounds like the perfect time to slow down yet more still. Just went through this with my stepfather as well and something magical that we did together was for me to tell him stories about himself. The moments of clarity that it brought on were absolutely wonderful. Wouldn't trade that time for anything.

Appreciate the kind words, and I think you're right about slowing down more. You're also right about the value of stories in these contexts. My stepfather was a ballroom dancer, and he definitely perks up a bit whenever we discuss his dancing days.
