I would redesign the #zkSync #token economy if I were the zkSync team. While zkSync has strong foundations as a layer 2 scalability solution using zero-knowledge proofs, the current token’s utility and incentive alignment could be strengthened. My change is to introduce a protocol-level #buyback and burn mechanism funded by a portion of sequencer fees and ecosystem revenue. As network usage increases, these fees accumulate – rather than simply flowing into validators or the treasury, a certain percentage is used to buy ZK tokens from the open market and burn them. This change will: Create ongoing inflationary pressure, Directly align the token value with network adoption, Improve long-term holder incentives by linking accumulated value to actual usage. It also adds a feedback loop: the more #zkSync is used, the scarcer the token becomes - which increases demand and strengthens the ecosystem. #ZK #ZkSyncAI #zkSyncBuild

One of the things that I think many people probably misunderstand about Web3 is the lack of a proper understanding of decentralization. That is, they think everything is permissionless, no one has control, and everything is fair and equal. What it really means (most of the time): Most Web 3 projects are not truly decentralized - they are semi-centralized at best. The infrastructure is fragile and relies on traditional web services. I think decentralization is an ideal, not a default.
