just discovered this awesome project by @gordo at ETH Dublin allows you to buy shares from independent artists and automatically get a part of their streaming revenue real value being created here - coin everything but in a positive sum way (and itβs on base cc @jessepollak) https://songs-tools.com/

Well, we started SONGS questioning the whole minting thing as it was something that wasn't working for music. Nice in the web3 echo chamber but nonsense out of it. ~97% of our users now never touched crypto ever. In SONGS when you create a song it already comes with 10k minted, owned by the artist, we call them Songshares. Owning a songshare represents 0.01% of the streaming track royalties rights. The artist can do with them as they want: - Share part of the song with collaborators to split the money automatically. - Sell them to finance their project via fans. (As label do but decentralised) - And many more to build on top... We gather the money from streaming platforms (Spotify, Youtube music...) and we pay in USDC to the owners of songshares based on their shares holdings. -- In the near future we will habilitate another type of "minting" that will permit the user to sell token gated access to HQ lossless files. This one will be more like the typical minting for the web3 user
