I dislike how frequently contemporary journalism skips citing primary sources for their recent quotes/references. The tech is there and seems somewhat trivial with the editing process. Blocks the public out of further discovery.

I think it's because contemporary journalism is mostly opinion based, unfortunately. There are some who do it justice, obviously. But most people don't realize they aren't getting a news report anymore. They are getting an opinion about it. And that's no longer news to me. Fine opinion piece it may be 😆 but not news
