There's a bunch of engineers all biding for positions and the reality is with AI, saying "I'm good at Python and Java" basically means you're a perfect substitute. You need to be driving to very specialized roles in software now, usually in an industry as a tech solution and not just a job that B2B tech, just making other software engineers better. Working at a company that's saving AI context or doing AI logging as a platform is flat out dumb. Those companies will be eaten by larger ones. - No, I do not think scaling is 10x or 100x. It's more about domain knowledge and being able to tell AI that it's wrong in these industry domains. That is tacit knowledge learned over time. A 100x engineer is actually a cost center with rising inference costs. It's not a hit for companies. - Yes, video game development is dumb.
