Everyone is finally realizing working at a FAANG is stupid.
Economics brain:
- You don't get paid top tier dollar to work at a FAANG. You get paid top tier dollar to put up with working at a FAANG.
You're paid to put up with ridiculous hiring practices, super fast work environments, and unreasonable expectations.
It's a golden handcuff. Everyone I know wants to *say* they worked there. "I'm only applying there to get it on my resume".
I have never in my 10 years of working, heard anyone say, "I want to work there because I want to work there." Since at least 2010, it's only attracting people that want to put in their time and leave.
